True Story Home Inspection LLC is a single member inspection firm formed with a mission of service. My name is Julian Smith, and it's a pleasure to meet you. I have been inspecting since May of 2021 starting in Florida, where I initially began my journey as an InterNACHI* inspector. InterNACHI is the leading accredited educational institution for home inspectors, yet my experience is greatly shaped by the additional requirements necessary to hold a home inspector's license in the state of Florida. Every state is free to determine their own requirements for a home inspector, and Michigan does not require a home inspector's license, certification, or business insurance. Rest assured you are in good hands hiring True Story Home Inspection. I am certified, experienced, and professionally insured. I have worked for several home inspection companies, and am trained in additional services (Wood Destroying Organism Inspections, and Citizens' Insurance inspection formats). That being said, my priority is to use this knowledge to my advantage in offering a superior understanding of the inspection field, letting me provide Standard Home Inspections of excellent quality. I do intend on beginning to offer ancillary inspection services in the near future, so my initial offered services will be limited to Standard Home Inspections, and Outbuilding Inspections.

Through a month of field training upon my arrival in Michigan, I quickly learned that inspecting Michigan homes will be an enjoyable expansion on my previous experience. Many similar environmental factors are at play, as well as the large number of homes built over one hundred years ago. Older building styles pose unique challenges to inspection, and my time inspecting historic homes is one of my favorite ways to spend it.
